Winter Comin' On
We wrap it in plastic.
I'd intended to have the place livable by winter 2006! OK, in hindsight i should have designed more simply; instead i obsessed over details. And i thought that with a standard perimeter foundation, i wouldn't need engineering; i was wrong. There were waits for plan checks, inspections, deliveries, contractors & helpers. But the longest and most frustrating delays were for engineering. It took months! One outfit, after over a month's delay, dumped me when i had the untrusting temerity to question why everything they specified was 2x what actually turned out to be necessary. Bastards.
